USSVI's Brotherhood Fund

USSVI Charitable Foundation website

The Subvets Brotherhood Fund is set up to benefit both the Active Service Submariners as well as Submarine Veterans.  The purpose of this fund is to provide emergency relief to SubVets in the case of catastrophic situations, and to annually provide additional financial support to the Active Service Submariners through the SubLant and SubPac Caring and Sharing programs.

History:  Originally established in 2000 by the USSVI Lockwood Internet Base chapter as the "Dinner for Sailors" program, this program continues on as the USSVI National Caring and Sharing program.

Over the past two years (2017 & 2018) the Brotherhood fund has disbursed $14,922 for our shipmates in the Submarine Service.

These disbursements included $2,312 to the Atlantic and Pacific Submarine Force Sailor of the Year programs, $500 to the Groton Base Thanksgiving dinners project, $4,750 in Caring & Sharing funds for personal shipmate medical & employment tragedies, $6,360 in disaster relief for hurricanes and $1,000 in disaster relief for the California "Camp Fire".

2019 has already started off with a $250 grant to the Atlantic Submarine Force Sailor of the Year Program with more to follow.

Your donations to the Brotherhood Fund in support of our shipmates is what has made all this possible and are sincerely appreciated.
