USSVI's Scholarship Guide & Notices

Few gifts are greater than the gift of knowledge. With it comes a strength of sprit and purpose, an inner confidence, an awareness of self, a sensitivity to the needs of others, and a humbling of the mind. And you can, no matter how small the gift, be a part of helping make that happen for someone!

The US Submarine Veterans' Charitable Foundation Scholarship Fund is exclusively directed toward providing part of the bridge spanning the gap between the educational resources the Submarine Veteran's candidate child has available and what may be needed to advance their education and knowledge acquisition.

USSVI's Charitable Foundation & Scholarship Programs
The US Submarine Veterans' Charitable Foundation has several programs with which to raise and distribute donations to the scholarship fund. The Current Year Scholarship Distribution Fund handles the actual distribution to the d scholars to receive funds in the current year cycle. The money distributed from this fund is generated by several other Foundation programs such as: The Charitable Foundation-General Fund The Charitable Foundation-Scholarship Endowment Funds Donations received by local USSVI bases from their fund raising campaigns. The student applicant U>must be related to and sponsored by a USSVI "SS" qualified regular member in Good Standing or, if not "SS" qualified, must in addition be a current regular member of Submarine Veterans of WWII. The student can be the son or daughter, stepchildren, grandchildren, or a court appointed to a guardian of the sponsoring member. (Applicants must be unmarried and a high school senior or graduate under age 21, or a student under age 23 enrolled in a full time course of study at an accredited institution of higher learning.) The selections for scholarships are based on the recommendations of the Scholarship Committee, which is comprised of an appointed chairman and several elected officials of the Charitable Foundation Board of Directors.
