| Rhode Island Base Float
On July 4th 2011, the Rhode Island Base commissioned its Base Float by participating in the 226th Annual 4th of July Parade in Bristol RI. The Bristol’s 4th of July Parade is our nation’s longest, continuous 4th of July celebration. The 20ft scale model of the USS Providence (SSN719) was well received by spectators all along the 3mi parade route. But our journey to this day was a 2 year task lead by base members Jack Hunter, Bill Follett, Bill Ramey, and Paul Kelly. |
