 Apr 14Aspro proceeded to Bangor, WA., where she unloaded her torpedoes.
 Apr 23Aspro entered the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA.,for alignment of her fire control system.
 May 4Leaving drydock, Aspro held tests along the West Coast for one month.
 Jun 8Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI.
 Aug 1Aspro served as a school ship for prospective commanding officers and took part in two exercises, "Kilo 5-69" and "Holdex 4-69", carried out in the Hawaiian operating area.
1970Mar 6Aspro got underway again to conduct sea trials around Hawaii, followed by weapons trials during April.
 May 18From 18 May through 12 June, upkeep at the Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor, HI. occupied Aspro's time.
 Jul 19Aspro departed Pearl Harbor, HI. for a six month Western Pacific deployment.

1972Jan 5Aspro commenced a restricted availability at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard which was followed by another month in upkeep.

 Apr 1Aspro commenced overhaul at the Ingalls Shipbuild Corp., Pascagoula, MS.
1974May 12Aspro completed overhaul.
 May 13Aspro departed Pascagoula, MS. After re-transiting the canal, she made liberty stops at San Diego, CA., and Bremerton, WA., then held acoustic trials in Puget Sound from 4 June to 7 June.
 Jun 19Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI., after an absence of more than 15 months and spent the rest of 1974 conducting operations in the Hawaiian Islands.
1975May 29Aspro left Pearl Harbor, HI. for the Far East. She conducted an exercise with Rathburne (DE-1057) the next day.
 Jun 10Aspr reached Yokosuka. Japan for a week's visit.
 Jun 19Aspro began operations at sea.
 Aug 10Aspro arived at Guam, Marianas Island.
 Aug 24Aspro participated in exercises with units of the Seventh Fleet from 24 August to 3 September.
 Sep 4Aspro made voyage repairs at Subic Bay, Philippines from 4 September to 16 September.
 Sep 17Aspro carried out exercises near Subic Bay, Philippines with Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) between 17 September and 29 September.
 Oct 1Aspro left the Philippines, bound for the Mariana Islands.
 Oct 5Aspro arrived at Guam on 5 October and remained there until 27 October when she sailed for Hong Kong.
 Nov 6From 6 November to 18 November, Aspro took part in ASW exercises with Seventh Fleet air and surface units.
 Dec 4After pausing briefly at Guam, Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI. and commenced post deployment stand down.
1976Jan 1The first two and one-half months of 1976 were spent on upkeep and exercises.
 Mar 15Aspro entered drydock at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.
 Apr 23Upon completion of this work, Aspro began sea trials, exercises, and final preparations for a tour of duty along the West Coast of North America.
 Sep 6Aspro left Pearl Harbor, HI.
 Sep 16Aspro stopped at Esquimalt, British Columbia, for a two day liberty call.

1977Oct 11Aspro commenced her overhaul.
1979Mar 11Aspro finished the overhaul and got underway for sea and acoustic trials.
 Apr 28Aspro went to Bangor, WA., for weapons trials.
 May 17Aspro made the voyage to San Diego, CA., between 17 May and 22 May, conducting deep water acoustic trials en route. Upon her arrival in San Diego, she spent one week in availability with San Onofre (ARD-30).
 Jun 8Aspro arrived back in Pearl Harbor, HI. after an absence of 21 months and spent the remainder of 1979 conducting training exercises, ASW operations, and preparing for a deployment in 1980.
1980Feb 24Aspro embarked upon her voyage to WesPac.
 Mar 9Aspro arrived in Buckner Bay, Okinawa.
 Mar 11Aspro put to sea to take part in Exercise "SHAREM 35."
 Mar 16Aspro returned briefly to Buckner Bay, Okinawa, then set out for the Philippines.

 Apr 6Aspro got underway for the Mariana Islands.
 Apr 12Aspro stayed at Guam from 12 April to 24 April and then set sail for Japan.

 Jun 17The liberty call at Hong Kong lasted from 17 June to 21 June, and then Aspro headed back to Guam, where she spent the period from 27 June to 16 July.
 Jul 16Aspro put to sea on 16 July for her last operational assignment of the deployment. She concluded both that operation and the deployment at Pearl Harbor, HI. on 30 August.
1981Jan 1Aspro began a restricted availability at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard that lasted until late in March.
 Mar 26Aspro left the shipyard and resumed normal operations out of Pearl Harbor, HI.
 Sep 5Aspro stood out of Pearl Harbor, HI. for the Orient. During the deployment, she visited a variety of ports in the western Pacific and in the Indian Ocean and successfully prosecuted all her operational missions.
1982Mar 16Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor. HI. and commenced the normal month of post deployment leave and upkeep.
 Apr 1Aspro resumed operations out of Pearl Harbor, HI. She participated in the multinational exercise Operation "RIMPAC 82" and served as a training platform for both prospective Commanding Officers and Midshipmen.
 Jul 1Aspro embarked upon a five week cruise that took her to the California coast and back. During that mission, she participated in ASW exercises and in FLEETEX 1-82.
 Aug 12Aspro arrived back at Pearl Harbor, HI., and began preparations for cold weather drills.
 Oct 15Aspro and Tautog (SSN-639) got underway for the Arctic region. In addition to their cold weather drills, the two nuclear submarines gathered scientific data to improve our knowledge of the cold northern region.
 Nov 20Aspro and Tautog made a winter rendezvous at the North Pole, celebrated by the mailing of cachet envelopes prepared especially for the occasion.
 Dec 15Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI. and commenced holiday routine.
1983Feb 1Aspro resumed duty in the Hawaiian operating area, and those evolutions continued through March, April, and May.
 Jun 1Aspro began preparations for another tour of duty with the Seventh Fleet.
 Jul 1Aspro departed Pearl Harbor, HI. for a deployment highlighted by visits to many of the exotic ports of the Far East and successful completion of all assigned missions.
 Oct 23Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI. on and, after post deployment stand down, took up local operations. That duty continued into 1984.
1984Jan 16Aspro entered the floating drydock Competent (AFDM-6) for a restricted availability. Later, she resumed operations at sea.
 Jul 24Aspro deployed to the western Pacific once again. Operating both in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, Aspro carried her assignments to successful conclusions and made port calls at a number of interesting places.
1985Jan 1Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI. and, following the usual leave and upkeep period, embarked upon local operations once more.
 Apr 1Aspro visited the west coast again.
 Jun 1Aspro voyaged to Arctic regions for more cold weather drills.
 Sep 30Aspro returned to Hawaii at the end of September and resumed local operations in October. That employment occupied her time through the end of 1985 and for the first four months of 1986.
1986May 1Aspro headed north for another round of cold weather exercises.
 Jul 11Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI. and remained in the area until early September when she cruised to the northern Pacific.
 Oct 27Aspro concluded that voyage at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, CA.
 Nov 15Aspro began overhaul at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, CA.
 Nov 15(Cont'd.) Aspro spent a significantly longer time at Mare Island Naval Shipyard than originally scheduled. During her overhaul, new sonar and fire-control system technologies became available and were installed during the delay.
 Nov 15(Cont'd.) The delay also allowed Aspro to have anechoic (acoustic)tiling installed on the hull, making her one of the quietest SSNs in the Pacific Fleet.
 Nov 15(Cont'd) At the conclusion of her overhaul, Aspro and her crew scored an EXCELLENT on the Post Overhaul Reactor Safeguards Exam (PORSE), a rare feat for any nuclear powered ship.
1990May 1Aspro returned to Pearl Harbor, HI. As she rounded the bend into the submarine base, the other moored submarines, led by her sister ship USS Tautog (SSN-639), sounded their whistles for over 4 minutes, welcoming the Aspro back to her traditional home.
 May 1(Cont'd.) After her return, Aspro deployed twice to the Western Pacific and twice to the Northern Pacific. She won the Battle "E" award for Submarine Squadron One three times in the next four years, and was awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
1995Mar 31Decommissioned and struck rom the Naval Register.
1999Oct 1Aspro entered the Nuclear Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA., on 1 October 1999, and on 3 November 2000 ceased to exist.
