| Aug 8 | Following builder's trials in Lake Michigan, Rasher was decommissioned and towed down the Mississippi on a floating drydock. After recommissioning and fitting out in New Orleans, LA., she trained in the Bay of Panama, and then departed Balboa, Canal Zone. |

| Sep 24 | On her first war patrol, Rasher operated in the Makassar Strait–Celebes Sea area. |
| Oct 9 | Rasher sank the passenger-cargo ship Kogane Maru in a submerged attack at dawn. |
| Oct 13 | Rasher sank the freighter Kenkoku Maru after firing 2 salvoes of 3 torpedoes each, then crash dived to avoid destroyers and bombs from a scout plane. |
| Oct 31 | While patrolling the shipping lanes off the Borneo coast, Rasher trailed the tanker Koryo Maru, but due to a patrolling float plane in the area, was unable to attack until night when she surfaced and sunk the tanker with torpedoes. |

1944 | Jan 4 | Rasher attacked a 3 tanker convoy, but her 1st torpedo exploded prematurely. The takners scattered and escorts were racing about, firing in all directions. |

| Aug 5 | Rasher launched a spread of 6 bow torpedoes at the largest ship in a 3 ship convoy. Diving to avoid being rammed, Rasher's crew counted 5 hits and heard the sounds of a ship breaking up as the army cargo ship Shiroganesan Maru went down.

| Aug 18 | (Cont'd.) Rasher pulled away to reload torpedo tubes and the convoy split into two groups. Rasher followed the group moving Northwest. Rasher launched 4 bow torpedoes at a range of 2200 yards. |
| Aug 18 | (Cont'd.) Rasher then swung hard right to launch two stern torpedoes. Both torpedoes hit and the Noshiro Maru slowed to 5 knots and reversed course. |
| Aug 18 | (Cont'd.) Rasher swung hard left to launch 4 stern torpedoes. 3 torpedoes hit and sank the 20,000 ton carrier Taiyo, and the fourth torpedo was heard exploding on a more distant ship.

| Aug 18 | Rasher's radar picked up a large convoy. 2 stern torpedoes were launched at the Teiyo Maru. Both torpedoes hit, and the tanker loaded with gasoline exploded into a column of flame 1,000 feet high. |
| Aug 18 | (Cont'd.) Rasher launched a spread of 6 bow torpedoes. 3 torpedoes hit and sank the 17,000 ton transport Teia Maru and a 4h torpedo was heard exploding at a timed range of 3900 yards. |
| Aug 18 | (Cont'd.) 3 hits on the cargo-transport Eishin Maru caused an ammunition detonation with the pressure wave sweeping over the submarine's bridge. The fourth torpedo was heard exploding on a more distant ship. |

| Apr 17 | Rasher departed on her 7th war patrol, for lifeguard station off Honshu. |

| Jun 23 | Rasher departed Midway Island for lifeguard station off Southern Formosa. Rasher was ordered to proceed to the Gulf of Siam. While she was enroute the war ended, and Rasher returned to the Philippines. |

1946 | Jun 22 | Following deactivation overhaul, Rasher was decommissioned and placed in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet at New London, CT. |
1951 | Dec 14 | Rasher was placed "In Commission, In Reserve" at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Reclassified as a radar picket submarine SSR-269, she commenced conversion. |
1952 | May 28 | Rasher was decommissioned while still undergoing conversion. |
1953 | Jul 22 | Rasher was recommissined after extensive hull and interior alteration . |

| Dec 17 | Rasher arrrived at San Diego, CA., via Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and the Panama Canal, for local operations from Washington to Acapulco for the next 2 years. |
1956 | Jan 4 | Rasher deployed to the 7th Fleet, operating with US and SEATO naval units. |
| Jul 3 | Rasher returned to San Diego, CA. Prior to and following a second WestPac deployment from 4 March to 4 September 1958, SSR-269 served in Fleet exercises as an early warning ship, and in ASW training operations.

| Jul 1 | Rasher was reclassified as an auxiliary submarine AGSS-269 with conversion being accomplished at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, CA. |

1963 | Feb 15 | Rasher returneed to San Diego, CA. and was overhauled in the summer. |
1964 | Aug 3 | Rasaher's next deployment next deployment, involved support of 7th Fleet operations off Vietnam, as well as ASW exercises with SEATO allies.

1965 | Feb 5 | Rasher returned to San Diego, CA., and had ASW and amphibious training. |
1966 | Jan 3 | Rasher's next WestPac deployment, included amphibious and ASW training support for Republic of Korea, Nationalist Chinese and the Thai units, as well as operation with the 7th Fleet off Vietnam. |
1967 | May 27 | Rasher was dcommissioned, and later was reclassified "Unclassified miscellaneous submarine" IXSS-269, was towed to Portland, OR., where she served as a training submarine for Naval reservists |
1974 | Aug 7 | Rasher was sold for scrap. |
