Status: Sunk as Target
Fate: Tunny was sunk on 19 June 1970 as a target for MK 37 acoustic homing torpedo tests off of San Diego by the USS Volador SS 490. With compartment doors welded shut and the hangar giving her extra bouyancy, Tunny proved to be a difficult target to sink.
