1967Apr 15Launched.
1968Aug 17Commissioned.
 Sep 23Arrived Pearl Harbor, joined Submarine Division 12 as its flagship.
1970Oct 23Reached Buckner Bay, Okinawa to join the 7th Fleet.
1972Mar 21Put to sea for a special operation, calling briefly at Guam and at Subic Bay.
1973Jan 15Entered Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard for her first overhaul.
1974Apr 15Resumed local operation out of Pearl Harbor. She had one voyage to the Pacific Northwest from July to early September.
1975May 3Departed Pearl Horbor for special operations in the Central and Wetern Pacific. The voyage included a period in drydock at Guam and aan exercise in the Philippines near Subic Bay.
1977Feb 24While returning from being deployed to Mombasa, Kenya, she was received orders top join a task force built around the carrier ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). They returned to the East African coast.
1996Oct 13Tautog made her 1119th and last dive.
