1911Nov 17Keel laid down by the Union Iron Works, San Francisco, CA. Seawolf was renamed H-1.
1913May 6Launched.
 Dec 1Commissioned wuth LT. Henry M. Jensen in command.
1917Oct 17Sailing from San Pedro, CA., H-1 reached New London 22 days later via Acapulco, Balboa, Key West, Charleston and Philadelphia.
 Nov 8H-1 arrived at New London,CT. For the remainder of the war, she was based there and patrolled Long Island Sound, frequently with officer students from the submarine school on board.
1920Feb 15H-1 and H-2 sailed for San Pedro, CA., Key West, FL. and Havana, Cuba.
 Mar 12As H-1 made her way up the coast, the submarine went aground on a tricky shoal off Santa Margarita Island, CA. Four men, including the Commanding Officer, LCDR. James R. Webb, were killed as they tried to reach shore.
 Mar 24Vestal, a repair ship, pulled H-1 off the rocks, only to have her sink 45 minutes later in some 50 feet of water. Salvage was abandoned.
 Apr 12Struck from the Naval Register. Her hulk sold for salvage scrap in June 1920.
