 Jul 19Croaker put to sea on her 1st war patrol, sailing to the East China and Yellow Seas.
 Aug 7Croaker sank the light cruiser Nagara.
 Aug 14Croaker sank a freighter.
 Aug 17Croaker sank a freighter.
 Aug 31Croaker arrived at Midway Island for upkeep.
 Sep 23Croaker sailed in a wolfpack for the same area on her 2nd war patrol.
 Oct 9Croaker sank a freighter.
 Oct 23Croaker sank a freighter.
 Oct 24Croaker sank one freighter and damaged another.
 Nov 10After stopping at Midway for fuel, Croaker arrived at Pearl Harbor, HI. for refit.
 Dec 13Croaker's 3rd war patrol, in the Luzon Straits and South China Sea, found her making no contacts with enemy shipping, but providing essential lifeguard service during strikes on Luzon preparatory to the invasion landings in Lingayen Gulf.
1945Feb 13Croaker arrived at Fremantle, Australia for refit.
 Mar 12Croaker sailed for her 4th war patrol off the coast of Indo-China and was twice interrupted by the need to return to Australia for repairs.
 Apr 22Croaker arrived at Subic Bay, Philippine Islands for refit.
 May 15Croaker sailed for her 5th war patrol, in the Java Sea.
 May 30Croaker attacked a convoy of three small oilers guarded by an escort, with unconfirmed results.
 Jul 1Croaker's 6th and final war patrol, found her assigned to lifeguard duties in the South China Sea and off Hong Kong as the final series of air attacks on Japan were carried out.
 Aug 13Returning to Subic Bay, Philippine Islands, Croaker sailed for Saipan and continued on to Galveston, TX., and New London, CT.
1946May 15Decommissioned at New London, CT and placed "In Reserve".
1951May 7Recommissioned and served as a schoolship out of New London, CT.
1953Mar 18Decommissioned at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME. for conversion to a hunter-killer submarine.
 Apr 9Croaker was reclassified as SSK-246.
 Dec 11Recommissioned at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME.
1954Feb 1Returning to active duty, Croaker operated along the East Coast and in the Caribbean, visiting ports in England while taking part in NATO exercises in 1957 and 1958.
1959Aug 1Croaker was reclassified as SS-246.
1960Sep 1Coaker depated on a cruise sailing through the Mediterranean & Suez Canal to call at various Near Eastern ports and Karachi, Pakistan.
 Dec 15Croaker returned to New London, CT.
1967May 1Croaker was reclassified as an Auxiliary Submarine AGSS-246.
1968Apr 2Decommissioned.
1971Dec 20Struck from the Naval Register and reclassified as a Miscellaneous Unclassified Submarine IXSS-246.
1988Jan 1Since 1988, Croaker has served as a museum ship at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park in Buffalo, New York.
