| May 10 | Silversides heavily damaged a Japanese trawler with her 3 inch gun. During this 75 minute action, an enemy machine gun bullet killed one of her deck gunners, TM3 Mike Harbin, the only man to perish on the top deck of a submarine during World War II. |

| Mar 1 | Silversides departed Midway Island on her 13th war patrol. Silversides was a member of a coordinated attack group with submarines Hackleback (SS-295) and Threadfin (SS-410), patrolling off Kyushu. |
| Apr 29 | Silversides returned to Pearl Harbor, HI. |
| May 30 | Silversides departed Pearl Harbor on her 14th and final war patrol. This patrol was spent on lifeguard station in support of air strikes on Honshu, Japan. |
| Jul 22 | Silversides rescued a downed fighter pilot from the light aircraft carrier Independence (CVL-22) |
| Jul 24 | Silversides recovered a downed United States Army Air Corps airman. |
| Jul 30 | Splversides ended this patrol at Apra Harbor, Guam. She was undergoing refit there when the hostilities with Japan ended on 15 August.

1969 | Jun 30 | Silversides was struck from the Naval Register. The South Chicago Chamber of Commerce applied to the Department of the Navy for custody of Silversides to preserve her as a memorial. During the mid-1980s, Silversides was docked at Chicago's Navy Pier. |
1987 | Aug 7 | Silversides was moved tro Muskegon, MI. and is now a Museum boat there. |
