The USS Thresher SSN-593 was lost on April 10, 1963 with all 129 men. http://www.csp.navy.mil/othboats/593.htm USS Thresher (SSN-593) Memorial Located behind U-E High School Annual memorial services held each April 10 Dedicated to a native of Endicott who was on the THRESHER when it went down. Services are in memory of him and the rest of the crew. His Mother and Brother attend the service each year to represent the family.
