Description
Dedication Ceremony was held on May 20th, 2012. Speakers included EN5 DC Jim Irwin, NY Rep. Paul Tonko, and State Assemblyman Jim Tedisco. Main Speaker was USN Capt. Jeffery Hughes. The memorial includes a Memorial Stone to honor all 447 New York State Submariners who paid the supreme sacrifice while serving their country in the Silent Service of the U.S. Navy. Also there is a 25 Foot model of the USS Albany SSN-753 and a Veterans Memorial Walkway stretching bewteen Low Strreet and Route 50 comprised of 9" x 7" light gray and darker gray memorials pavers. Pavers will include all branches of the military.
