Captain Harry M. Yockey a member of USSVI, was Born Nov. 3, 1933, Canton, OH, raised in Dover, OH. Died June 16, 2004, Louisville, KY. Buried with military honors, Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, Section U, overlooking Point Loma Submarine Base where he took command of the USS Salmon SSR-573. Capt Yockey qualified on the USSS Sirago SS-485 in 1960. Capt. Yockey was Program Manager for the Tomahawk Missile Weapons System. Capt. Yockey retired from the Navy in 1983. Capt. Yockey was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal He is buried in SECTION U SITE 440-D of the Fr. Rosecrans National Cemetery.
