Description
On October 12,2008, in Wahoo, NE., the Wahoo-Nebraska Chapter of WWII Subvets and the USSVI Nebraska Base held a Rededication Ceremony to mark the refurbished WWII torpedo,base, and plaque. Added to this is a new Memorial Stone of Black Granite. The ceremony included a Tolling of the Bell for all Lost Subs. This is the 46th year for this ceremony. The Wahoo Memorial is the oldest and first Submarine Memorial in the United States. Guest Speaker was Senior Chief ET(SS) Monty Clawson of Stratcom in Omaha, NE. Also present were the Mayor, Daryl Reitmajer, and USSVI District Three Commander David Farran.
