USS Razorback earned five battle stars in the Pacific during WW II.
After the war she remained active with the Pacific Fleet serving off Japan and China. In August 1952 she decommissioned before conversion to Guppy IIA-type submarine. She was recommissioned in January 1954.
Regularly deployed to the 7th Fleet into the 1960s she sailed into the South China Sea on her 1965. She earned four battle stars for her Vietnam service. Her last US patrol ended in August 1970.
Concurrent with her decommissioning on 30 November, Razorback was struck from the US Navy List and transferred to the Turkish Navy where she was recommissioned Murat Reis (S-336). She was again decommissioned in 2001 when her ownership was transferred from Turkey to the city of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She returned to the U.S. at New Orleans, Louisiana 18 June 2004 and arrived at her final destination of North Little Rock in July 2004. She has been open to the public since July 2005.
