Association members voted to have a USS Robert E. Lee plaque placed at the Naval Memorial in D.C. to accompany the 598-class plaque.
Description
The SSBN-598 Class boats joined forces to commemorate the contribution of the first boats in the 41 for Freedom to ending the Cold War. The Robert E. Lee made the Navy's last Polaris Patrol (Lee's 55th and the Navy's 1245th)

The SSBN-598 plaque that all 5 boats in the class contibuted funds to have displayed. All 5 boats also commissioned a plaque similar to the Lee's, which will all be displayed with the this Class plaque in the Spring of 2008.
