Tom's River Submariner Memorial
Description
The New Jersey South, Tom's River Submarine Memorial, is of course located in Tom's River but more correctly in South Tom's River at Huddy Park near Mathis Plaza. It was erected along the sea wall by the people of South Tom's River and New Jersey South. The memorial, which is also called the New Jersey South Submarine Veteran's Memorial, was dedicated on 11 April 1997 by the (then) Base Commander John Dempster. Submarine Memorial - Toms River NJ There is a beautiful park that was built with a large Gazebo, it is well cared for and well lighted. The memorial consist's of a torpedo mounted on 2 concrete cradles with a memorial plaque on each one. Under the torpedo is an area where flower's can be planted and directly in front of the torpedo (away from the seaward side) is the memorial walk where anyone can have their name or the name of a loved one inscribed in a paving stone for $35.00.
