The New Jersey South, Tom's River Submarine Memorial, is of course located in Tom's River but more correctly in South Tom's River at Huddy Park near Mathis Plaza. It was erected along the sea wall by the people of South Tom's River and New Jersey South. The memorial, which is also called the New Jersey South Submarine Veteran's Memorial, was dedicated on 11 April 1997 by the (then) Base Commander John Dempster.
