Bases Supporting Kaps(SS) 4 Kids(SS) 

This is a Community Outreach Program where local chapters (Bases) of U.S. Submarine Veterans give ‘Honorary Submariner’ caps and other items to children (and their siblings) who are the victims of challenging medical conditions.

The presentation was made August 16th in the Atrium on the 7th fl oor of the Children’s Hospital. Chief of the Boat Marty Sessler, Vice Commander Carl Chinn and shipmate Tom Lufkin presented the KAP(SS) to the children under a national outreach program of USSVI.

  Bowfin base gives Kaps to young oncology patients at Tripler Army Hospital

Click VIEW button for full story: On August 6, 2008, a group of USSVI Bowfin Base, Pearl Harbor, members visited Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu to deliver 20 Kap(ss)-4-Kid(ss) to young oncology patients. To acknowledge these brave young children who are courageously fighting major illnesses, the Sub Vets and their wives presented them with the blue and pink Kaps, inscribed as Honorary Submariners.

Click VIEW button for full story: On Saturday, the 21st of June, the Boise Base Submarine Veterans were privileged to participate in the annual picnic held by the Mountain States Tumor Institute, a facility of St Luke’s Regional Medical Center located in Boise Idaho. This picnic was for all young cancer patients undergoing treatment and in remission and their families and siblings.
